Salary information: SO1, £35,577 - £36,567 per annum (dependent upon experience)

Annual leave entitlement: 29 days annual leave each year, in addition to bank holidays.

Work pattern: 36 hours per week, All year around (52 weeks) - will require flexibility of working hours to meet the needs of the school.

Start date: ASAP

The successful candidate will be required to take annual leave during school closures only; October Half Term, Winter (Christmas) Break, February Half Term, Spring (Easter) Break, May Half Term, Summer Holidays.

Meadow High is a special school for students aged 11-19 with Moderate Learning Difficulties and additional Complexities. One of the UK’s largest secondary special schools, we have been consistently rated as a Good school. The school holds a number of national awards including the SEN Specialist Schools Award, the Inclusion Quality Mark Award and the International School Award.

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to manage and be responsible for the overall site. The Site Manager will ensure that the school’s buildings and grounds and installations are maintained to the highest possible standards, ensuring health and safety executive regulations and requirements are adhered to at all times. The successful candidate will also be required to supervise the site team (Site Assistant & Senior Site Assistant), providing appropriate guidance and assisting in the training and development of staff. 

Applicants must have:

  • Staff management experience. 
  • Considerable experience in aspects of DIY / building industry.
  • Basic training and/or sound experience in one or more of the following: General maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting and decorating.
  • Ability to make effective decisions and use sound judgement.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, monitor and evaluate work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Commitment to the security and wellbeing of the school.
  • To hold a current driving licence or be prepared to gain such within the earliest opportunity (including mini-bus use).
  • Ability to work at high levels unsupervised.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member and to work with people at all levels. 
  • Be able to deal with emergencies outside of core hours.
  • Ability to adapt to changing and conflicting demands.
