Job overview
The Lunesdale Learning Trust (which includes QES and QEStudio schools) are seeking a Sixth Form Administrator and Study Supervisor for an immediate start (pending completion of recruitment checks).
We are seeking an experienced administrator to work as part of our Sixth Form team to provide support and guidance to staff, pupils and parents/carers. In addition, the postholder will be responsible for monitoring independent study periods in our dedicated Sixth Form library and act as liaison with school transport providers.
The different strands of this role will mean we need someone who is highly organised and can manage their time and competing priorities effectively; while working with a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills are key to be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
Good GCSE (or equivalent) results including English and Maths are essential and an NVQ in business administration or similar qualifications or experience would be beneficial.
This is a part-time post for up to 27.5 hours per week during school hours in term time plus 1 week in school holidays (around results days) but the working pattern can be agreed with the successful candidate.
If you wish to apply, please complete all sections of the application form by Thursday 26th September 2024. In your supporting statement, please include:
- Your relevant experience
- What you feel you could bring to the Schools
- Why the job appeals to you
If successful we will invite you to interview. If you require further information or wish to discuss any issues, please do get in touch by emailing recruitment@qes.org.uk or call 01524271275
Please note although advertised as a salary scale it is expected the successful candidate would commence on SCP7 with annual progression.
The Lunesdale Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), other statutory required clearance and reference checks with previous employers.

About Queen Elizabeth School
About Queen Elizabeth School
Queen Elizabeth School (QES), Kirkby Lonsdale, is an 11-18 co-ed, non-denominational, all ability school with a sister school, QEStudio, with its own building. We serve a large, prosperous and beautiful area of South Lakeland, North Yorkshire and North Lancashire. Although a rural school, we are only 6 miles from the M6 and well connected to main line train stations, which helps explain the outward-looking vibrancy of Kirkby Lonsdale.
Queen Elizabeth School dates back to 1591 when we were granted our charter to provide ‘Scholarship and Care’, a promise we continue to deliver well into the 21st century.
In September 2017 QES developed as the Lunesdale Learning Trust to incorporate a new Free School, the QEStudio providing high quality professional, technical and vocational learning to over 300 14-18 year-olds. This is an innovative and exciting aspect of our provision in Key Stage 4 and 5 it is proving to be extremely popular with pupils and parents.

Values and vision
Most significantly the Trust is founded on core values which underpin and inform the life of the schools and promote our sense of community. These include the focus on encouraging global citizenship, remembering that life is about more than material things, looking out for others, and thinking of others who are less fortunate.
Ofsted report
"This outstanding school fully lives up to its ancient motto of ‘Scholarship and Care’. The excellence that the school achieves results from the equal emphasis given to each of these aspects of its work. Parents and students are overwhelming in their praise of the school and many count themselves fortunate to be a part of it. Pressure for places is high because of the school’s excellent reputation in the locality and further afield."
