We are seeking a dedicated and qualified full-time Secondary School Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic educational institution.
The teacher will be expected to deliver engaging lessons that captivate students' interest and foster a deep understanding of the core concepts within the realms of Social Studies. This encompasses not only conveying theoretical knowledge but also applying innovative teaching methodologies to cultivate critical thinking skills and real-world applicability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate is expected to teach social studies which include geography, history, and other social sciences at Secondary School level
- Ensure high-quality delivery of teaching and learning experiences aligned with the Secondary School Social Studies and IGCSE curricula.
- Design and implement effective assessments that align with IB standards and accurately measure student understanding of Social Studies concepts.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments and best practices in the field of IGCSE Social Studies education, maintaining an up-to-date knowledge base.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and academic growth.
- Monitor and enhance student progress, welfare, and academic outcomes within the realm of a Social Studies education.
- Take a proactive role in implementing school policies, with a specific focus on safeguarding and promoting equal opportunities for all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the development and improvement of the Social Studies curricula.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Possession of a recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDip, BA, MA, MBA, Qualified Teacher Status, or an equivalent teaching credential, along with documentation of ongoing professional development.
- Proven experience in teaching Social Studies at the Secondary School and IGCSE levels.
- Familiarity with assessment practices related to the IGCSE framework.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the Humanities curriculum.
- Collaborative mindset, showcasing the ability to work effectively with colleagues and contribute to a cohesive department.
- Evidence of involvement in extracurricular activities, such as student clubs or academic competitions, related to the Humanities field.
