Salary: Leadership scale L11-15
Northern Schools Trust is seeking to appoint a Specialist Leader in Education for Mathematics, to work within the Trust and be deployed directly into schools to support both the love of maths and the raising of standards. Within our Trust we have an innovative mix of traditional academies, UTCs and a Studio school.
Working closely with the senior leadership teams within each school, you will provide both challenge and support to ensure that our schools continue to make sustainable improvements in Maths and across other key subjects where Maths is a key component.
You will have
• a successful track record of working effectively within your own school and/or across a group of schools, or working with a range of leaders within a single school
• evidence of successfully using coaching and/or facilitation skills to bring about sustainable improvements • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• a good understanding of what constitutes ‘outstanding’ in your field of expertise and the ability and confidence to communicate this
• a good understanding of how your specialism and skills can contribute to wider school improvement goals
• an analytical approach in identifying and prioritising needs
• the ability to set and establish new and innovative working practices
• the ability to grow leadership capacity in others
You will be an outstanding teacher, with a track record of excellent results and will have the potential to embed good practice and build capacity. We require a colleague who is committed to high standards of learning and student progress, who can help our students to reach their potential. You need to be innovative in the role and ambitious for our students and at the same time you need to be comfortable with being held accountable for your impact.
