Job overview

The Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust (Diocese of Salford) is dedicated to providing an outstanding Catholic Education to our pupils. We are seeking to expand our central team and appoint a Specialist Subject Leader (Primary Inclusion) to support our primary school leadership teams.

As the successful candidate you will be an outstanding and highly motivated teacher and leader who will be a key member of Emmaus CAT’s Leadership Group. This post would be suitable for someone who is willing to embrace the distinctive Catholic nature of the schools in our CAT, exceptional teachers, Assistant Headteachers or Deputy Headteachers. The successful post holder will work closely with the Catholic Senior Executive Leader (CSEL/CEO), Director of Primary Education, and school leaders. The role will be to support strategic leadership and hold accountability for implementing the strategy, development, improvement, performance and quality cross our primary schools. With a specific focus on inclusion, the successful candidate will contribute to the strategic direction of our primary schools. Acting as an advocate for pupils, the postholder will help shape the character development and formation of all our Emmaus pupils.

This is a high-profile role for an inspirational individual. With a flexible and calm approach, you will share best practice across our schools, draw on the talents of staff and pupils, and build on our many strengths. The post holder will have a track record of addressing performance, driving change and raising the standards, engagement and aspirations of all members of a school community.

They will need the humility, credibility and integrity to deliver in challenging circumstances and the ability to communicate a vision that inspires, motivates and enthuses staff, pupils and the community as a whole.

Emmaus CAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment is conditional upon receipt of satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and standard safer recruitment checks. We will carry out an online search for all shortlisted applicants.
