Nelson and Colne College Group is made up of a family of colleges – Nelson & Colne College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Accrington & Rossendale College. The Exciting Role 

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspirational Sports Technician with a strong commitment to working with students in an educational setting. 

The successful candidate will be primarily based at our Nelson site but may be required to travel across sites.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Supporting the teaching staff in the preparation of teaching and learning environments for curriculum delivery
  • Supporting curriculum staff with the planning and administration of trips and visits
  • Supporting football coaching staff in the planning of transport for fixtures
  • Supporting the extra-curricular offer and deliver/oversee sessions as required

What We Are Looking For:

  • GCSEs grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Up to level 3 qualification in related subject area e.g. sport, physical activity, outdoor ed.
  • Sports Coaching/ Fitness Qualifications (desirable) 
  • Experience of working with young people (desirable)

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
