Lunge yourself into a fantastic new opportunity to join our team as a Student Support Mentor to include Sport & Exercise. You will assist in providing comprehensive support, working with students on a one to one basis, in small group as well as classroom support as part of the Pastoral Team. Required to start as soon as possible, this role would be an ideal position for someone who has pastoral experience and / or has experience of fitness training, boxing coaching etc. We have recently opened a brand new fitness suite on site and would very much like to bring the two roles together in order to engage students in positive behaviours through sport and exercise.
Key Responsibilities:
- · Work under the instruction/guidance of Head of Student Support/senior staff, to undertake mentor work, care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for students.
- · To support children and young people to achieve their potential by providing targeted support to overcome barriers to learning and to support evidenced improvements in student behaviour
- · To oversee upkeep of gymnasium, all related equipment and to monitor / supervise use of the facility.
- · To provide induction and health and safety information (around safe use of equipment) for students and staff, providing opportunities for use of gymnasium and any classes deemed appropriate.
- · The successful candidate must be qualified to a minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C or Level 4/5 and have a proven experience in a Pastoral role.
