Are you a talented and committed teacher of Media Studies and teacher of English who wants to join our Academy at the forefront of change? This role combines the leadership of Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and 5 and the opportunity to teach Media and English in a high performing faculty in our Academy.
Joseph Leckie Academy are seeking to appoint an excellent leader of Media who is an outstanding classroom practitioner who is an enthusiastic, passionate, innovative, interactive and engaging teacher of Media and English, looking to join a dynamic and expanding Communications faculty. And who can deliver excellent outcomes for our students. This role will add further capacity to increase opportunities for our students to excel in Media and Communication.
Key responsibilities:
- The Subject Lead for Media will lead Media Studies: KS4 (GCSE Media Studies (currently EDUQAS) and Level 3 Media (Single Award) including contributing to curriculum development, teaching and learning, and student progress and attainment.
- Teach Media at both Key Stage 4 and 5 and English at KS3 and 4, inspire students to excel in lessons to ensure outstanding progress and attainment in your lessons
- Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and lead this in Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and 5.
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students, as a leader of Media Studies and as a teacher.
- Facilitate and encourage a learning experience within and beyond the curriculum, which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
- Contribute to raising standards of student attainment in Media and lessons.
- To share and support the Academy’s responsibility to provide opportunities for personal and academic growth and development, and expand the cultural capital for our students.
- Support and maintain collaborative relationships within the faculty, with students, parents and external professionals.
- The successful candidate must hold QTS or equivalent, a relevant honours degree and meet the criteria in the Job description.
Our last Ofsted inspection judged the Academy to be good in all categories and for overall effectiveness, with some excellent feedback across all subjects and our Pastoral Care.
