The Team

The Travel and tourism team works with students across a range of different courses from Level 1 to Level 3 Extended BTEC diploma.

 

The Role

This role would be suited to someone looking to teach and develop students’ knowledge skills and behaviours in readiness for a vocational career or progression to HE. You will ideally be an experienced teacher with a background in Travel and tourism.

The role will require a flexible and student focused approach with the ability to continue to maintain the high standards of teaching delivery the team are noted for.

 

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

  • Background in travel and tourism with a least level 3 qualification.
  • Experience of working with young people and adults as a teacher.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and committed to supporting and motivating students.
  • Strong digital skills, including word processing and electronic communication.
  • Passionate about Travel and Tourism.
  • Well organised and able to plan and manage in a highly effective manner.
  • Excellent team engagement.

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
