Teacher of Art

Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy are looking to appoint a hardworking, ambitious and dynamic Teacher of Art to join our outstanding team from January 2025.

You will be part of a vibrant, experienced, supportive team; we believe in working collaboratively, sharing ideas and supporting each other to achieve great things and see this as the key to further developing innovative teaching and learning strategies. The visual arts are highly valued at The Leigh Academy, and you will be joining a well-resourced and successful department who produce outstanding results in KS3 and KS4.

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract for 1-year, offering MPS/UPS commensurate with experience + London Fringe Allowance.

Note that whilst the position is offered on a fixed-term basis initially of one year, every effort will be made to offer a substantive position thereafter, either at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy or within the wider family of academies across Leigh Academies Trust. The central Recruitment Team will keep in touch with you throughout your contract to discuss options available to you.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff. Currently, 14 of our academies are considered to be “Outstanding” which is nearly 50% of those which have been inspected whilst part of the Trust. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway.
