Teacher of Child Development and Health & Social Care (Maternity Cover), required January 2025

Full-time/Temporary Position (Maternity Cover) (suitable for NQTs and experienced teachers)

We are seeking to appoint a committed colleague with a passion for Child Development and Health & Social Care. We are a forward thinking team and we are looking for an inspirational teacher to join us.  Both qualifications are popular at post 16, and many of our students go on to study these subjects at higher level.

Our results and standards are excellent and we have the highest expectations for our students and staff.  You will be able to develop excellent classroom practice in meeting the needs of students of all abilities.

You will:

·         be a strong, committed and reflective teacher with a proven track record of progress at KS4 and KS5;

·         have previous experience in raising student attainment and implementing effective intervention;

·         have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

·         be aware of the new changes in the curriculum, and have ideas of how to implement them;

·         be committed to maintaining the high standard of teaching that is already embedded within our Learning Community.

Cannock Chase High School is an 11–19 mixed comprehensive school with over 1000 students on roll. Students and staff are warm, open and supportive to one another and proud of their school. We have recently been judged as ‘good’ be Ofsted with ‘exemplary’ behaviour. Mutual respect is a key feature of our relationships here. We are currently experiencing high levels of success, with over 30% of our Sixth Formers going to Russell Group universities. We have been judged as ‘Good’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection.
