Teacher of English - Alternative Provision School Chesham - Full Time or Part Time

We are looking for an enthusiastic English teacher to be part of our team at Chiltern Skills and Enterprise Centre Alternative Provision school in Chesham, teaching small groups of key stage 4 pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an ambitious and innovative trust, where you will have the opportunity to create meaningful and lasting change in the lives of some of the most vulnerable students in Buckinghamshire.

We would like to find an English teacher who has the creativity to inspire students who may not yet have discovered a love for the subject.

We seek to employ teachers who believe that young people who have been excluded need to be in a nurturing and loving environment, to feel valued and cared for, and to have teachers who believe in them. We know this work isn't always easy. You need to be calm in the face of challenging behaviour, to always see the best in a young person, and to find something to love in them, no matter what.

We have high expectations of our young people, in terms of their behaviour, social development, and academic achievement. We know that young people who have been excluded often have complex backgrounds and/or a number of unmet special educational needs. When they receive the right support, they are capable of great things.

We offer Functional Skills as well as GCSE and we focus heavily on reading skills. We also support our KS4 dual-registered students with the award offered by their referring school. We are proud of our aspirational English curriculum which goes beyond that offered in many AP settings.
