About International School of Bearn

International School of Bearn is a mixed, non-denominational all-through school with sixth form situated in the commune of Pau in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region of southwest France. It is an independent and non-profit school that is based around the English National Curriculum, with a high priority put towards students speaking fluently in English and French, with the help of its English as a Second Language (ESL) programme available. It is the only school in the Béarn area offering an international Anglophone education. There are a total of approximately 350 students across its Foundation Stage, Primary and Secondary departments between the ages of 2-18, and class sizes are small at around 18 pupils each. Exams include SATs, IGCSEs, AS and A2 Levels and Cambridge International Exams (CIE).

ISB was founded by the school’s current principal in May 2002, with its pre-school and primary school opening in 2003, shortly followed by its secondary school in 2007. It has been accredited by a number of organisations, including ECIS in 2004, University of Cambridge International Schools in 2007, Edexcel in 2012 and Ista in 2013. It has recently moved to some new buildings in 2014.
