The successful candidate will need to be a qualified teacher, able to deliver consistently good and better lessons across the age-groups of the Academy.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about English, maintaining high expectations of learning, achievement and behaviour contributing to whole school improvement, inspiring our students and making a positive contribution to our ethos and values. Our English department aims to nurture and inspire our students to become confident readers, writers and speakers who can compete with anyone, anywhere.

Our new colleague will also benefit from being part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a MAT of 43 primary and secondary academies.  The Trust’s vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential.  OAT support all staff so that they can enhance and develop their professional skills whatever their role within the trust.

Our ideal candidate should:

  • Possess strong curriculum knowledge.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management.
  • Be confident in their ability to raise standards and instil self-belief and achievement in our students.
  • Be a fully inclusive team player.
  • Show commitment to inclusion and success for all and more specifically in the English faculty.
  • Actively contribute to the wider life and ethos of the Academy.

If you would relish the opportunity of working with us, then we would welcome your application.

“The quality of teaching, learning and assessment is outstanding. Teachers have very high expectations and deliver well-planned learning so that pupils are challenged and develop their skills rapidly. As a result, pupils make rapid progress from their starting points across the curriculum. This is particularly the case for disadvantaged pupils and pupils who have special educational needs and/or disabilities”.
