The Department is highly thought of within the College and academic success is high: in 2023 96% of our students attained a good pass in GCSE English Language with over half of pupils achieving a grade 7 or higher. In GCSE English Literature we achieved a 93% pass rate.

The Department offers A Levels in English Literature and separately in English Language, with both significantly contributing to the excellent academic results in the Sixth Form.
