Job Overview:

Stowe seeks an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher of English. 

The successful candidate will be a dynamic classroom practitioner with an energetic and forward-thinking approach to teaching English up to and including GCSE and A Level. We are looking for someone who is able to transfer a love of language and literature. This is a vibrant department and members also often teach across Film, Media and EAL. The ability to teach one of these subjects in addition to English would be an advantage.  

A willingness to contribute fully to the Department while also adding to the extra-curricular and pastoral life of a busy boarding school is essential.

Qualifications

Essential

  • An Honours degree (or equivalent) in the relevant subject (s)​
  • A Secondary Teaching Qualification​

Desirable

  • Qualification in EAL teaching​
  • Qualification in Film or Media teaching​


Specialist Skills & Experience

Essential

  • An ability to motivate, enthuse and influence​
  • A commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children​

Desirable

  • Experience of classroom teaching ​
  • High levels of competence in the use of ICT for teaching and administration. ​
  • The ability to teach Creative Digital Media Production or EAL​


Personal Qualities

Essential

  • A willingness to participate fully in the pastoral care, School duties and extra-curricular activities​
  • Able and willing to contribute to the faculty team​
