An exciting opportunity to join our high achieving Mathematics Faculty! We have two vacancies for January 2025 – one permanent (potential here for a responsibility) and one maternity cover role to teach the subject throughout the School. Full or part time for either position would be considered.
Darrick Wood School is an oversubscribed and successful 11-18 ten form entry mixed comprehensive academy in an attractive setting in Orpington, Kent.
Candidates will have a firm grasp of curricular developments, inspire high standards in the classroom, have a warm approach, and be prepared for wider involvement in co-curricular activities. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously with others.

About Darrick Wood School
Darrick Wood School is a mainstream, co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy for 1700 children aged 11-18. It is situated in Orpington, Kent. In its most recent inspection by Ofsted (May 2024) the School was judged as “Good” in all areas.
The school was founded in 1975. In June 2004, it was awarded specialist status in technology. In 2010, Darrick Wood converted to academy status and a new Sixth-Form building was completed.
In 2015, the secondary school was awarded the World Class Schools quality mark.
