This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and inspiring colleague to join Caister Academy. The successful candidate will join a team of committed professionals, working within the mathematics department. They will be working within a Trust where staff development is prioritised. They will be supported by a strong leadership structure including a Head of Department and a Lead Practitioner, alongside colleagues who are keen to collaborate and develop. This role would be suitable for ECTs.

Caister Academy is one of Norfolk’s leading co-educational secondary schools, situated in the coastal village of Caister-on-sea, just 20 miles from the vibrant and historical city of Norwich. Caister Academy's 2024 Ofsted report praises the school ‘Good’ in all categories, notably capturing that “Pupils know how to behave, and they do so well”. The report also states that the “Classrooms are quiet spaces which are highly conducive to learning”.
It specialises in literature and performing arts, with aspirations to lead nationally in all areas. About the Mathematics Department:
At Caister, we pride ourselves in having an amazing group of people who work directly within mathematics. Consisting of six teachers, with lead practitioners and raising achievement mentors alike - we work as a collective to better the outcomes of students across the academy. With links to school departments across the county with our links to the East Mathematics Community, we consider ourselves a key player in changing student perspectives in the subject. Requirements:
· To apply for the Teacher of Mathematics role, you must hold a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
· Good knowledge of the pedagogy associated with the subject.
· An understanding of the social, emotional, and intellectual development of teenagers.
· Have an understanding of working with different groups e.g., the most able, the disadvantaged and SEND.
· Ability to teach to KS3 and KS4.
