About Spalding Academy
Spalding Academy is an oversubscribed non-selective mixed 11-16 secondary school and joined South Lincolnshire Academies Trust in September 2016.
- The school has over 1,400 students with a pupil admission number (PAN) of 300 – this has recently increased from 270 and is set to increase to 320.
- The school is performing WELL ABOVE national average and is in the top 5% of all schools nationally (based on a Progress 8 score of +0.67 in 2023).
- It is consistently in the top two non-selective secondary schools in Lincolnshire and outperforms local grammar schools.
- Spalding Academy is the top performing secondary school in Spalding.
- The last Ofsted inspection was in 2019, where the school was graded Good in every category under SLAT leadership. Prior to joining the Trust in 2016, Spalding Academy was one of only 19 schools in the whole of the UK graded as Inadequate in every category.
- The school is currently benefiting from capital development projects with additional work planned over the next few years. Spalding Academy has already had a new 8 classroom block building, large astro pitch, PE changing room block, music block with recording facilities and performing arts rooms plus refurbishment of IT and science classrooms.
