About the School

Baleares International College (BIC) https://balearesint.net/campuses/sa-porassa-campus is the largest British owned school in Mallorca, providing education based on the English National Curriculum to 485 students (from 3 to 18) in Sa Porrassa, a very accessible but beautiful rural area, adjacent to the south west coast of Mallorca. We are accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Education, based upon inspection and recommendation by the British Council, and are a founding member of the National Association of British Schools in Spain (NABSS). The school is also a member of COBIS, the Council of British International Schools.

About the Opportunity

This exciting opportunity is to join the secondary maths team. The team is an extremely strong one with a wealth of experience and a culture of collaboration. Last year, our GCSE students achieved excellent exam results, with over 25% of students achieving a grade 9 and a mean student grade of 6.1. We currently have 31 students studying a maths course Post 16, which includes students studying the prestigious A Level Further Mathematics course. Subject knowledge and experience of delivering Year 13 Further Mathematics is therefore desirable but  not essential. If you have a passion for maths and relentlessly high expectations for the students you teach, do apply. Leadership opportunities may also be available for the right candidate.

Equally importantly, we are seeking to appoint a teacher who will also be a strong team-player, with a good sense of humour, who is caring and authentic, hardworking and resilient, and with a steadfast commitment and belief that all children can achieve.

The successful candidate will also want to play their part in the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan, supporting the delivery of the school’s mission to make the school the number one choice on the island. As a British school, specialising in teaching the National Curriculum to a diverse, international student population, strong English language is an essential requirement and applications from native-level speakers of English are preferred.
