Job overview
Due to the continuing expansion of the college we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Teacher of Mathematics to start in January 2025 to teach across the college. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either a full time or part time position. Experience of teaching Mathematics at A Level is essential and the ability to teach Further Mathematics is desirable. The post holder will also support the running of extra curricular activities.
Rochester Independent College was founded as a sixth form college in 1984 and offers a fresh alternative to traditional independent education. There is no uniform and students and teachers are on first name terms. Today, Rochester Independent College (RIC) has 425 students from the age of 11 and offers places for boarders from the age of 13.
Classes are small. On average there are 8 students in each group. As well as a full secondary education from year 7 to sixth form, the College specialises in intensive one year A level and GCSE courses. We also have a good track record of excellent results on retake A level and GCSE courses for students aiming at competitive university courses including Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science and Dentistry.

About Rochester Independent College
Rochester Independent College is a fee-paying co-educational secondary with sixth form in Medway. There are 425 pupils on the school roll with 180 boarders. The college opened in 1984. The school’s mascot is the Flying Pig. The town of Rochester is located 30 miles away from London. The school operates minibus services across Kent. There is no uniform at the school, and teachers are addressed by their first names.
