Due to promotion within the department, we wish to appoint a new KS4 Coordinator in Maths. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who is committed to inspiring and motivating students and who will continue to develop a knowledge-rich curriculum that is exciting, innovative and diverse.

Mathematics is held in high regard at The Hollyfield School with A-Level Maths the most popular subject in our sixth form. This is reflective of the strong GCSE results achieved in the subject, with many pupils exceeding their expected outcomes; our progress score has been consistently positive for several years. The faculty has an excellent extra-curricular offering including chess club and competitions, numeracy week, with its fabulous maths bake-off, and the UK Mathematics Challenge which sees many of our students achieving Gold.

 Hollyfield is part of the Every Child, Every Day Multi Academy Trust and we have strong relationships with our Trust partners. The maths department works closely with our partner schools in the development of the curriculum and resources in order to provide our students with a world class programme of study.

This role would be an outstanding opportunity for someone who is looking for their first middle-leadership position or for an experienced middle leader who wants to work within a hardworking and dedicated faculty that utilises evidence-based teaching practices to drive improvement and achievement. They would also be supported by the trust who can provide excellent subject-level support and leadership CPD through the NPQML and NPQSL programmes.

The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:

●     QTS;

●     a broad base of subject knowledge;

●     the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5;

●     a clear vision for a knowledge-rich curriculum;

●     a clear understanding of successful classroom practice and

        evidence based teaching;

●     employs a range of teaching and learning strategies;

●     the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;

●     the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;

●     effective interpersonal skills;

●     able to demonstrate suitability to work with children and

        young people.

Hollyfield is a beautiful school with a thriving sixth form, in the Surbiton area of Outer London. Excellent transport links enable our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides. We are an ambitious school that puts student achievement and wellbeing at its heart.

In April 2020 we were judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’: ‘School leaders are keen to ensure all pupils achieve their best. Pupils respond well to leaders’ high expectations. There is a distinct sense of community in the school. Pupils grow in confidence and learn to work together well as a result.’
