We are a diverse and vibrant 11-16 academy, based in the friendly, north-east town of Middlesbrough.

We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.

The Academy became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2019 and as a member of the Outwood Family we believe in putting Students First, raising standards and transforming lives.

The Creative Arts department at Outwood Academy Normanby is comprised of a team of specialist teachers responsible for the leadership and delivery of teaching and learning in art, drama and music. Our music classroom is equipped with a range of musical instruments and resources to foster interest and passion for music including a fully functioning suite of iMac computers running Garageband. Our provision also extends to three practice rooms which contain drum kits, digital pianos, a full class set of ukuleles, keyboards and a class set of djembe.

Our extra curricular programme extends to termly performances, a weekly choir and year group designated clubs as well as individual music lessons taught by peripatetic tutors

As in all OGAT secondary academies, the programme of study is fully resourced with high-quality materials supported and produced by Subject Directors and staff across the trust who know the specifications well. We support our teachers to become experts in preparing students for GCSE examinations, using our thorough and systematic methods devised over many years.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) is recognised as one of the highest performing multi-academy trusts in the country. We believe that all support staff within our Family of Schools are key in securing student success and ensuring professional development opportunities is part of our transformation model.
