About King's High School - Warwick
Since opening our doors in 1879, King’s High has been at the forefront of girls' education.
We are proud to put each girl's aspirations and wellbeing at the heart of all we do, preparing them for a life of fulfilment and to be a force for good in the world. Our aim is for every girl to ‘aspire, achieve, enjoy’, and we are thrilled that now, in our world-class, state-of-the-art school, opened in September 2019, our girls have facilities which match their skills and ambition.
As an academically selective school for girls, we are rightly proud of our excellent educational provision, which extends from the outstanding academic and extracurricular programmes to the expert pastoral care we offer.
Whilst our girls are united in being bright, inquisitive and purposeful, we delight in the unique qualities each brings to our independent GSA girls’ school, comprising around 600 pupils, aged 11 to 18 years.
Here at King's, every girl is celebrated for who she is, can explore and develop her interests, and gain confidence in herself and her abilities. She can also be assured that the whole school community is focused on realising her ambitions and dreams, whatever they may be. This makes for a truly exciting educational journey. Indeed, a glance at the destinations of our leavers pays testament to the girls' richly diverse interests and expertise.
One of the school's key aims is to prepare our girls for the fast-changing world of the 21st century. Through our engagement with the local and wider community, we instil in them a deep understanding of their roles as active and responsible global citizens: King's girls want to make a difference, and know how to do so.
Judged ‘Outstanding’ in its most recent ISI inspection report, King’s High has an enviable academic reputation, coupled with an unusually wide range of extracurricular activities. The school delivers an outstanding education to girls by offering them the best of all worlds; single-sex teaching in the classroom and, as part of the family of schools which make up the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation, a constantly evolving programme of collaborative and extracurricular activities with Warwick School and Warwick Preparatory School.
The School aims to help each girl to develop as an individual in the heart of a caring and supportive community. Our School motto, “Spiritus Reget,” recognises the spirit of King’s. The standard of music, drama, sport and art is exceptionally high. We encourage and motivate each girl to discover and develop to the full the talents, interests and abilities that will play such an important part in ensuring that she is equipped to live a fulfilling life, at school and throughout her future. We aim to nurture independent, capable, confident and spirited young women, intellectually equipped to make a real contribution to 21st century life.
