Job overview
The Quest Academy is looking for a skilled and passionate Teacher of Religious Studies to join our successful Faculty.
The Quest Humanities team is very strong and delivers consistently high standards - at both GCSE and A-Level. The Faculty is well established and an area of excellent practice - it is a fantastic place to accelerate the development of your own teaching skills, and share ideas on what makes outstanding learning. We would very much welcome an application from you.
What does the role involve?
The main aim of this role is to deliver exceptional teaching and learning for the fantastic students of our great school. In RS, we teach students from Year 7 to Year 13 and the subject is compulsory for all students in Year 7 to 11. You will be required to actively engage in up-to-date teaching pedagogy and contribute to the continual improvement and refinement of RS teaching. To do this, you will benefit from 50% additional non-contact time above your standard PPA time specifically to facilitate engagement with improving teaching pedagogy (as is the case for all our teachers).
You will also join one of our 3 Houses as a Form Tutor and through this vital role help students settle for the day and develop the learning attributes required to engage in active learning.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching RS and is able to share this enthusiasm with their students so they develop a real thirst for knowledge. You will need to be a teacher who is capable of building strong relationships with students and families to help maximise this enthusiasm and thirst for learning.
The job description and person specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of who we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate.

About The Quest Academy
The Quest Academy opened in 2010 and is part of The Collegiate Trust.
We opened our sixth form, Quest6 in 2012 and moved into stunning new buildings in 2014, providing the very best facilities for our staff and students.
We are a very successful Academy. We have doubled in size since we opened, are regularly oversubscribed and achieve excellent results in all key stages.
The professional development of our staff is paramount to us. A significant proportion of our leaders, including SLT, have been with us since the beginning of their careers and have benefitted from the career progression available.
All staff are allocated an extra 1 hour of non-contact time each week which is designated exclusively to develop teaching pedagogy. All staff participate in the Professional Development Programme which is specific to the needs of individual teachers.
We have created a purposeful campus where we work hard and work together to achieve excellence inside and outside of the classroom, valuing academic achievement and personal growth.
We look forward to receiving applications from those who want to join our journey.
