Job overview
Are you passionate about bringing Science to life and inspiring the next generation of learners? Lindsworth School is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our vibrant team.
You do not necessarily need experience or a qualification in working with SEND students to apply – we have an experienced and dedicated team who will provide all the support and guidance you need. What matters most is your love for your subject, your commitment to high-quality teaching and your desire to make a positive impact on every student’s learning journey.
Join us and be part of a welcoming school where teamwork, creativity and the belief in every student’s potential are at the heart of everything we do.
The successful candidate must be committed to improving outcomes for disadvantaged/ vulnerable students who can exhibit challenging behaviour. The ability to inspire, challenge and motivate both students and colleagues to enable them to exceed their expectations is also a requirement.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward thinking, dedicated, pro-active team; an opportunity to develop your skillset in a rewarding environment. We encourage applications from ECTs or experienced teachers and welcome applications regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or religion.
We have an experienced SEND team across all areas of the school and collaborate closely with stakeholders to further expand and improve the offer for students who have a wide range of complex social, emotional and mental health needs.
We are looking for an outstanding candidate who will:
- Be an excellent classroom teacher with the ability to reflect on lessons and continually improve their own practice.
- Have effective and systematic behaviour management, with clear boundaries, sanctions, praise and rewards.
- Think strategically about classroom practice and be able to tailor lessons to pupil needs, motivating and enthusing students who may be reluctant to engage.
- Understand and interpret complex student data to drive lesson planning and pupil attainment.
As a school we are committed to developing the talents and potential of all our staff and place great emphasis on their wellbeing. We are focused on, and committed to, making rapid progress towards delivering an outstanding provision and are looking to appoint staff who have high expectations of themselves and students.
About Lindsworth School - “One size fits NONE”

Many of the students have medical diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder. This is a school where you can make a real and lasting difference to the young people in our care. We are highly ambitious to provide our students with the best education and preparation for a happy and successful life in the adult world.
