Job overview

We are looking for a high calibre Teacher of Science to join our successful Science Department, one that will enthuse students through the provision of high-quality teaching and learning, encouraging all students to develop their potential to the full. The successful candidate will be a teacher who is passionate about all aspects of Science with an understanding of the curriculum and a drive to make a difference and maintain our high standards.

Our Science department is a hugely important to St Andrew the Apostle School. In 2024 all subjects in Triple Science had, on average, over 50% of their students achieving 9 – 7 grades. Furthermore, Double Science had positive Progress 8 outcomes. Physics, Chemistry and Biology are consistently chosen by our students in our small sixth form, where all learners are able to gain the grades they need for the next step in education or career.

Our future

We are delighted to announce the upcoming completion of our new state-of-the-art facilities in September 2025. These buildings consist of a rooftop Multi-Use Games Area, 4G pitch, modern classrooms, drama studios and a 300-seater auditorium, sports hall, further enhancing our commitment to academic and all-round excellence. Our teaching rooms fully equipped with the latest technologies available to support learning. In addition, we will have a large Sports Hall and studio space for the wide range of sports we offer in our curriculum and during extra-curricular periods.
