Richard Huish College has a strong reputation regionally in its offer of a wide range of A level and vocational courses in Taunton and the surrounding areas in Somerset.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated teacher with the expertise to teach BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma and Extended Certificate in Information Technology in our successful and growing department. The key units taught across these qualifications are Website Development; Programming; Creating Systems to Manage Information; Data Modelling (spreadsheet); Digital 2D and 3D Graphics; Digital Animation and Effects and Games Development. For further detail of the specific IT skills required, please refer to the person specification.

The successful candidate will have the skills and abilities to provide an outstanding student experience through teaching, learning and assessment, enabling students to maximise their potential. We are looking for an innovative and committed classroom practitioner who would work collaboratively with the team. The post holder will play a key role in inspiring students to engage with the subject material and to participate actively in lessons. As a dedicated teacher, you will contribute to all aspects of the curriculum, ensuring students benefit from a high-quality learning experience. You will also contribute to the development of the existing enrichment programme currently including employer visits, trips, academic tutoring and peer coaching. As the course is vocational, recent industry experience is desirable.

Hours up to full time are available for a candidate able to teach a second subject. We would consider applications from candidates without a teaching qualification and would support the right candidate to complete a teaching qualification.

·        Salary: Sixth Form Colleges Teachers pay scale £30,500 - £47,133 (FTE) Depending on experience

·        Hours: 0.5-1 FTE
