We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher with expertise in maths to join our team in a Specialist Resource Provision. In addition to providing high-quality teaching and support to our students with special educational needs, the successful candidate will also utilise strong knowledge of maths to teach mainstream classes, employing good quality adaptive teaching strategies to promote inclusion and support diverse learning needs.
They will have a proven track record of delivering strong academic outcomes, particularly at KS4, and be skilled in adapting learning to cater to a range of learning needs. This person should be enthusiastic, patient, and forward-thinking, committed to helping students achieve their best both academically and personally.
Training will be offered where the right candidate does not have extensive experience of ASD. However, a passion for SEND, a solid understanding of communication-linked SEMH needs, and creative approaches to improving academic results are essential. This role will provide the opportunity to work closely with an experienced Lead Teacher in an inclusive, supportive environment that values innovation and student success.
This candidate will be the type of teacher who sees the potential in every student and has the skillset to ensure they thrive, both academically and emotionally.
Hollyfield is a beautiful school with a thriving sixth form, in the Surbiton area of Outer London. Excellent transport links enable our staff and young people to take full advantage of the wealth of opportunities that London provides, including world class theatres and galleries. We are an ambitious school that puts student achievement and wellbeing at its heart.
In April 2020 we were judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’: ‘School leaders are keen to ensure all pupils achieve their best. Pupils respond well to leaders’ high expectations. There is a distinct sense of community in the school. Pupils grow in confidence and learn to work together well as a result.’
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
● QTS;
● understanding of SEND legislation
● Good working knowledge of ASD
● a broad base of subject knowledge;
● the ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5;
● a willingness to lead extra-curricular activities within the department
● a clear understanding of successful classroom practice
● the ability to work effectively as part of a curriculum team;
● the ability to maintain good classroom behaviour;
● effective interpersonal skills;
● demonstrable suitability to work with children and young people

We want the best people for our roles, so while this is primarily a full-time post, we recognise that sometimes those best suited to roles on offer aren’t available full time. Please talk to us about the flexibility you may need.
