General:

The Teaching Assistant is responsible for supporting the Mother Tongue Teacher of Arabic in her duties.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Teaching Assistant, with the support, direction of and collaboration with the Mother Tongue Arabic teacher, is expected to:

  •  Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom as directed by the Teacher of Arabic to enable the students to fully participate in the Arabic lessons
  • Support the Teacher of Arabic in classroom preparation for individualized learning
  • Under the guidance of the Teacher of Arabic, work with individuals and groups of children in order to contribute to the development and delivery of the curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with the Teacher of Arabic to make reasonable adjustments to lesson plans and teaching activities to ensure all students make progress
  • Specifically, to help children focus on and finish the work set, such as reading, writing and presenting. Clarify and explain instructions where appropriate
  • Provide extra support for students with educational needs with the support and under the direction of the teacher of Arabic
  • Provide regular feedback about student progress to the Teacher of Arabic.
