Rossendale School is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our Education team for a September start!
We are looking for a versatile, resilient and committed teaching assistant who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting the children with their work and supporting with pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.
Rossendale is a day school catering for the needs of pupils who are autistic and academically able. All pupils have a draft or final Education, Health and Care Plan.
The School provides education for young people aged from 7 – 18 years of age. Key stages 3 and 4 are based on the main school site, whilst Key stage 2 and 5 are based at our Campus which is based in the local community. At Key stage 4 and 5 we offer a wide range of GCSE subjects, BTEC Awards, Functional Skills, ASDAN and Entry Level qualifications and A level courses at the sixth form provision. Given the disrupted nature of our pupils’ education, prior to their admission to Rossendale, we have had some outstanding examination results. The school admits both boys and girls.
Due to the location and requirements of the role, all applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
The successful candidate will:

- Be expected to meet individual needs and ensure that all pupils achieve their academic potential.
Rossendale School has an excellent staff team who are enthusiastic and supportive. If you have experience of working with young people in a school setting, are flexible, imaginative and enthusiastic we would be pleased to hear from you. Experience of working in a specialist school is not essential as the school runs its own extensive training programme.
Please note this role is a fixed term position starting from 1 September 2024 to 31 May 2025, working 24 hours over 3 days a week
