We are looking to appoint a motivated, enthusiastic and multi-skilled Teaching Assistant to join our hard-working, reflective and forward thinking SEND Faculty to assist in the support and inclusion of pupils with special educational needs within a mainstream school. If you are an effective team player with a positive and proactive approach to work then we would like to hear from you.

Working within our SEND Faculty, the successful candidate will provide additional support for SEND pupils across the school in line with the SEND code of practice and school expectations. To be successful in this application, you must be able to demonstrate that you can motivate, engage and inspire pupils of all ages and abilities and actively contribute to the high expectations and achievements of the SEND Faculty. Experience in supporting pupils across a range of curriculum subjects and delivering literacy and numeracy interventions to KS3 and KS4 pupils would be an advantage. We offer excellent support and CPD, including a powerful, whole school focus on the development of learning and teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person.

As a very popular, high-achieving and oversubscribed 11-16 girls’ Academy with approx. 990 pupils, we have a reputation for outstanding pupil outcomes, teaching and learning. This is achieved through a supportive programme of personal development, high expectations of pupil behaviour, academic rigour and a strongly inclusive ethos.

Fairfield High School for Girls is a non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 academy for girls, situated in Droylsden in Manchester. The school, which converted to an academy in 2011, has 981 girls on its roll. 

Fairfield High School is one of the oldest all-girls schools in the country; in was founded in 1796, when Sister Mary Tyrrell opened a small girls' boarding school. In September 2004, as part of the Specialist Schools Programme, the secondary school became a Science College.
