The Exciting Role 

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Trainer Assessor in English within our Apprenticeship provision. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of delivering Functional Skills from Entry 3 to Level 2

This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge, a newly qualified assessor looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation. 

Working hours will be between Monday and Thursday

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Supporting the delivery of apprenticeship programmes through the planning, delivery and feedback of Functional Skills English to apprentices and pre-apprentices
  • Plan and deliver Functional Skills across a variety of settings – including on college sites, at employer premises and/or online, both one-to-one and in small groups across Lancashire.  
  • Use apprentices starting points, identified from their initial assessments to individualise learning plans to support them to successful completion of their Functional Skills
  • Monitor the progress of students ensuring that appropriate support is provided in order to improve retention and timely achievement 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Recognised teaching qualification
  • 4 GCSE grade C or equivalent including Maths and English
  • Completed or working towards a relevant Assessor Trainer qualification (desirable)
  • Experience of successfully delivering functional skills from Entry Level 3 to Level 2 in maths and/or English
