Klax Berlin gGmbH is responsible for 30 crèches, kindergartens and preschools in Berlin, an educational institution and a provider of educational activities: the creative hub, the children's art gallery and the Klax nature and environment camp.

For our kindergarten “Wellenkids” in Zehlendorf on Clayallee, we are looking for an administrative and pedagogical head of daycare (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

Organization and administration:

• Responsibility for the organizational processes in the kindergarten
• Budget management and resource optimization
• In addition, you will ensure the operational running of the facility by assuming responsibility for the building, carrying out staff planning, reporting repair demands and monitoring the facility budget
• Implementing legal requirements and quality standards
• You are responsible for key figures on the economic situation of the facility (e.g. place occupancy, staff utilization, sick leave, cooperation with parents), analyze these and report to the responsible management
• You represent the facility to authorities and customers

Pedagogical management:

• Implementing our special educational concept - the Klax Concept!- which focuses on the individual development of each child
• Ensure that the framework conditions for excellent educational work are in place in the kindergarten and that the children can achieve their developmental and educational goals
• Promoting a caring social community that meets the special requirements of a bilingual and international kindergarten

Personnel management:

• Guidance and motivation of an international multicultural team of 10 employees
• Conducting regular team meetings and training sessions
• Ensuring a positive and supportive working environment

Parental work:

• Establishing and maintaining a trusting working relationship with intercultural parents
• Organization of parents' evenings and regular exchange about the development of the children

Your profile:

• Recognized educational qualification in the field of early childhood education, desirable with additional qualifications in business administration and staff management
• Several years of professional experience in the management of a daycare center
• Experience in setting up a bilingual kindergarten
• Team and communication skills as well as empathy in dealing with children and parents
• Knowledge in the area of pedagogical concept development and implementation
• Organizational and implementation skills
• Very good knowledge of German (at least B2, better C1 level) and good knowledge of English
