Example evidence for teaching standards & bullets

(107)
Example evidence for TS standards, including highly detailed examples of acceptable evidence for each 'bullet point&' (or sub TS-element) for the 2012 Teacher Standards... I found it difficult to ascertain what &';evidence' counts for each TS & TS-sub-standard, so I have collated acceptable lists from my University training, NQT local authority guidance and mentor guidance into this handy document. Useful for NQT&'s, mentors, student teachers and others. *** Added a condensed, cleaner version in Nov 2014 *** Mike.

Reading Book Corner Labels (Library) KS1/2 - Leaves theme

(10)
I couldn't find any 'garden' or 'leaf' reading corner labels that I liked, so I created these. We have to use comic sans font in our year team, but I think they still look relatively modern. <br /> Stuck on green baskets holding the books/collections using sticky back. <br /> <br /> Easily editable and includes 'spare templates' at the bottom. Just copy/paste the entire row with the image on and paste underneath, which will give you the whole file. <br /> <br /> My library is quite small, so I don't have hugely differentiating labels. Included in the file:<br /> - Picture books<br /> - Short picture books<br /> - Non-fiction (information)<br /> - Short chapter books<br /> - Medium chapter books<br /> - Longer chapter books<br /> - Roald Dahl<br /> - Michael Morpurgo<br /> - Library Loan books<br /> - Newspapers<br /> - Horrible Histories<br /> - Beast Questg<br /> - Spare templates...<br /> <br /> Free for all to use without any restrictions.

Pirates Class Assembly script (Lower KS2 - Years 3/4)

(1)
An assembly script that I wrote for my year 3 class in 2013. <br /> <br /> It was accompanied by a whizzy PowerPoint which included lots of imagery and photos to supplement the script. There was also music, which I haven't included due to copyright or due to the photos being of my class. <br /> <br /> Hope it helps. I found it a perfect learning journey for jokes as you can perhaps tell!

Differentiated mixed operation and two step word problems (Years 2/3/4) - editable

A sheet of differentiated questions requiring children to identify the operation first and then solve the worded problem.<br /> <br /> Sheet 1: easier<br /> Sheet 2: harder<br /> <br /> Some are 1 step problems, some are 2 step problems.<br /> <br /> Gained inspiration from another TES user, but just differentiated it for my class...<br /> <br /> You might need to just modify a couple of questions to personalise it for your children (i.e. q's 6 / 7 / 8).<br /> <br /> <br /> Inspiration from: https://www.tes.co.uk/teaching-resource/which-operation--word-problems-6024492

Tray Labels (Illustrated Draw Tabels) - Editable Classroom Organisation

I couldn't find table tray pictures that looked particularly modern, nor fit the majority of my trays completely so I created my own! They fit the majority of the tray/trolly units I have come across in schools. <br /> Updated Aug 15: Comic sans font version available along with a Sassoon version. <br /> <br /> Feel free to edit etc. <br /> <br /> Tray labels completed include: <br /> - Individual stationery folders (e.g. plain paper, multilink, scrap paper etc. x lots!)<br /> - Stationery<br /> - English<br /> - Mathematics<br /> - Science<br /> - Topic books<br /> - Other exercise books<br /> - Guided reading groups<br /> - Homework<br /> - Spellings / Phonics<br /> - Teacher photocopying draws<br /> - Teacher-only stationery<br /> <br /> <br /> Hope they save you some time.

2D Reflective symmetry in architecture/buildings.

Lesson plan and SMART Notebook for a successful and interesting lesson on reflective symmetry. This lesson was part of our learning journey: me and my world, learning more about our local area. Some photos are of buildings in our local area to strengthen the context/purpose. Other resources will need to be made and gathered (such as mirrors and pre-made worksheets as outlined in the lesson plan). However, my colleagues amended large sections, so just make it your own! I hope this helps people out there or simply provides a stimulus.

Swimming games, activities and ideas (starters / plenaries KS1 and KS2)

<p>I have collected a range of ideas which I have seen online or from my own experiences as a swimming instructor and combined them for you all to use and share.</p> <p>These games are perfect for improving children’s water confidence and I often use them as a starters or plenaries.</p> <p>Suitable for all ages, but I specifically use them for primary aged children (KS1 and KS2).</p> <p>Top tip: Have the games printed double sided and laminate as they will get splashed!</p>
