<p>This is a 50-60 minute activity designed for Year 6 students who are visiting their new school. It is a stand alone lesson. It is all about Africa and challenging their ideas about what it is like.</p>

<p>Three sets of questions to warm students up for their exams. They are low stakes questions. They will need a little tweaking depending on the case studies that you use etc. There is one for each paper and it specifically links to the AQA course but will be appropriate for all GCSE Geography courses.</p> <p>They are designed to be printed double sided with the answers on the back for students.</p>

This is for the new GCSE course for Geography. This case study encompasses teacher and student led work looking at the city of London and how it has grown from a Roman settlement to the World City that it is today. The tasks are broken down into manageable chunks so that some can be completed at home.

This is an outline for the physical field work for the new GCSE course. This is written to suit the beach that we are going to but can be easily adapted to any stretch of coastline. In also includes a planning lesson for students in preparation for the field work.

This is a series of lessons looking at the causes, effects and future planning of the Earthquake in Nepal. It is specifically designed to work with the OCR B course but will work for other schemes. The idea is that they have the resources and internet access to do additional research as the lesson progresses. I would estimate about three lessons plus homework to complete this.

<p>This is an entire case study for the AQA GCSE course. It uses Mexico City as an example of a NEE city. There is a set of slides that follow the unit through with additional links and an accompanying booklet for students to work through.</p>

This is a 3-4 part lesson on the creation of Typhoon Haiyan and its impacts. I have taken ideas from both the Oxford and Pearson OCR B GCSE Geography texts. There is also a decision making exercise to go with it.<br /> <br /> It includes news clips to help support ideas.

<p>This lesson focuses children on the ways that people use the coastline along with the challenges that it brings.</p>

<p>This is a mystery activity thinking about the impacts of climate change on the fictional Mr and Mrs George. This takes the students though local, national and global aspects of climate change focusing of the production of coffee. I use this task within a Key Stage 3 weather and climate unit.</p>

<p>This is a first lesson for year 7 when they start at the school. The idea is to get them thinking about their own Geography and how their postal address and name can tell them so much about their own geography.</p>

This unit challenges the ideas that students have about the African continent and that it is a place of diversity and challenge. The lessons here challenge students in mapping, graph drawing and interpretation as well as coming to their own conclusions. It is a nice short unit which can really capture the imagination.

<p>This lesson focuses on the impact of storms on the UK coastline. It uses the recent Storm Freya March 2019 as an example. The focus is the effective use of coastal management and the impacts on industry (Tourism).</p>

<p>A task that links geography to the Christmas story. The task is primarily a mapping task but also considers the modern day issues of large numbers of tourists visiting Bethlehem.</p>

<p>This is several lessons on coastal landforms. It focuses on wave-cut platforms, arches, and spits. It is aimed at KS3, and covers maps skills, photo interpretation and diagram drawing.</p>
