Transcriptional Fluency - Dictation

I have developed a simple 5 step process to teaching dictation to young writers, whole class - even if you don’t have a teaching assistant. I have been working on developing transcriptional fluency in KS1 for the last two years. Using dictation to achieve transcriptional fluency in early writing will become as important to Ofsted as phonically decodable books in early reading. Working alongside KS1 class teachers, I have tried and tested this process - it works! Your young writers will quickly become proficient at transcribing sentences so that they can quickly move on to full writing composition.
