A quick resource to use to show in class.

This is a great resource for beginning Irish and learning how we use the verb ‘to be’ in different ways. Exercises are included in the presentation, they are matching Irish and English sentences combining the skill for translation and syntax development. This can be used in class in primary or secondary school as a regular lesson or a catch up lesson for resource classes or for learners with gaps in learning. This resource was developed to help learners who felt they didn’t understand Irish at all. So the age range is flexible.

This lesson is geared towards written and oral skill sets. Learners will understand the various ways we say I am in Irish and be able to start using this verb in writing short sentences, as well as matching activities which are also included in the Power Point. There is also the beginnings of using prepositions. This resources was developed to support learners in the system who could not write anything in Irish and whom needed access to structure and starting here is amazing as we also tack on a few of the prepositions too.
