I have created a Smart Board to introduce Picasso to year 1 children. It briefly describes who he is and looks at some of the work he has done. The aim is for children to be able to draw one of his line animals by the end of the topic. Along the way, children will learn to use a wide variety of tools, they will learn about 2D shapes and abstract art. I have provided the learning objective for each of the 5 lessons. Children in my class absolutely loved this art topic.

Materials and their properties lessons for KS1 children. The lesson looks at a range of different materials and their properties. At the end of the lessons children are invited to investigate which material(s) would be best to make a window from and why. Children learn to make predictions, investigate and to conclude their findings. It is a great activity to boost vocabulary e.g. transparent, rough, smooth etc.

Full Smart Board of animal including humans lessons. Looking at different types of animals e.g. reptiles and amphibians etc. Also includes labeling human body parts and the senses. All worksheets and lessons provided.
