Individual cards for children to use, in order for them to understand precise instructions. Cards are held and then children asked to move forward/backward a number of steps or turn left/right so many turns. Helps before programming Roamers and Bee Bots.
A sheet containing all the lower case letters which I laminated and got children who needed it, to practise forming their letters correctly using different coloured whiteboard pens.
Shapes and lines that first need to be torn carefully, then the same shapes/lines cut carefully. Lastly the children were asked to use both skills to make identical pictures, then asked to say which they preferred and why.
Large copies of the symbolic control buttons on cassette/CD/DVD players. Use them as part of understanding instructions in Year 1 ICT lessons. Ask the children to sequence them to record, rewind and listen to their recording. Handy to display near to ICT machines with labels.
