<p>A STEM project<br /> 6 lessons involving 1x Research, 1 x generate ideas and practise key skills, 3x make and 1x evaluate<br /> Children will create a Mars Rover using wooden structure and combine this with Crumble controller to make the rover move and also programme spoarkles.</p> <p>Structure skills: include measuring and sawing using butt and mitre joins. strengthening corners and fixing axles and wheels.<br /> Crumble skills: programme motors and sparkle<br /> Design: Decide on a specificaiton to meet the needs of the audience and purpose.</p> <p>Resources<br /> All Activinspire flipcharts and teacher instruction<br /> All resourses (including scaffolds were needed) using Publisher</p>

<p>Crane project where children use their knoweldge of structures and pulleys to create a crane from wood.</p> <p>The resources include all lessons (SMART notebook and resources for all parts of the DT process (Research, Design, Generate, Make and evaluate).</p> <p>The outcome resources are sign posted within the SMART notebook so it’s easy to follow and the outcome will be a booklet that the children will complete throughout the teaching and hopefully a working crane. The teaching also focuses on skills and qualities needed to be a technician as well as introducing children to budgets.
