Factorising quadratic expressions step by step - Differentiated

(17)

Before I begin, this resource is heavily adapted from Labrown20’s worksheet, and adapted smartboard from UltraAmoeba

I have differentiated the worksheet much further. My school uses emerging, developing, secure and mastery levels of progress, so this is how the worksheets have been differentiated. The instructions are there on the smartboard. Mini whiteboard plenary included.

Loci and logic problem

I made this as a practical loci problem in which students get to practice loci as well as problem solving logic. The word document contains all the instructions but it’s based around my schools PC room and some fictitious students. One PowerPoint contains the seating plan to scale. Please change any of the names if you have those names in your class, especially Johnny You’ll also need to change the School name on the word document from **** to your school

Snakes and Ladders board with coloured squares

I have created a Snakes and Ladders board with coloured squares, blue and pink, which when landed on COULD be forfeits with questions on coloured paper of cards. I have used this many times with age 8-16 year olds! I usually use Blue cards as Mental arithmatic and pink as subject specific to what I'm teaching them. All you need is a dice(die) and counters! Ive laminated mine to make it last a long time. The word document is an example of the cards I have made, these are for a year 4 student.

Functional skills project - cupcakes ratio and proportion plus real life maths - GCSE level

(1)

I created this for a gifted and talented maths club at GCSE level so is somewhat challenging. The project contains lots of real life maths links such as VAT, minimum wage, recipes, proportion, shopping comparison and business links such as profit and overheads. You can easily differentiate this project by changing the main ‘order’ in the ‘main task unpersonalised’ word document. It is fully personalisable, I used a year 11 prom set up, as can be seen in the ‘main task’ document. There is a fully worked answer sheet and smart board file to go with it, with the answers in the smart board file (hidden behind the blinds feature). There is also extra information and questions relating to VAT and minimum wages too. You are free to change any part of this project to best suit your needs. Prices correct at 1st June 2015.

Christmas Translations - no vectors

Made this due to a gap in the market as they say.

2 separate activities, 1 translating shapes using left/right/up/down with spare emoji pictures at the bottom that students could cut out and stick on if you want to.

The second is a describing translations. I have just left room for answers so you could use vectors or words here.

I always publish FREE of CHARGE. Please leave me a review!

Have a lovely Christmas
Matt

I created this poster for the Maths department initially but the school have adopted it throughout. It describes in simple terms how LanSchool works in a visual way. Hope it helps! Note, print in colour and on A3 paper
