A simple activity to practice using full stops/question marks and capital letters. Have children read and cut out each sentence, stick into books and underneath write the sentence using full stops and capital letters/question marks. I use this with my EAL Year 3 children but could be adapted to any year group. I have also used phase 3 ch, sh, th, ng, ai words within the sentences for children to independently read.

This is a lesson aimed at creating a menu of Welsh foods, using adjectives to add detail. I made a video of a friend acting as a a chef, explaining that he had lost his menu and needed the children to create a new one for him. I also had QR codes of pictures of welsh food for the children to find to familiarise themselves with the foods (I used Google Docs and an online QR generator to create this).

I showed the children the example art work. The other document has templates of different ocean mammals that I cut out and had children use as templates to draw around. Children then either collage to add in pieces of rubbish or drew them.

I created these fact files for my Year 5 class using information from National Geographic etc for children to use within a research based activity about animals living in different layers of the ocean. From this, the children created a 2D version of one of these animals and a bubble fact file to add to a class ocean layers display.
