A one hour lesson introducing the topic of Sikhism to KS3 pupils. The lesson gives an overview of key aspects of the religion; such as God, the Gurus, and key moral principles. This provides a good starting point for deeper learning about Sikhism. Resource includes PowerPoint and all resources in Word document form, such as a key word glossary for the topic and an apply task worksheet. The unit was made for KS3 but would also be suitable for older KS2 classes.

A one-hour lesson introductory lesson on Islam, covering the basics needed for pupils to understand the content of the AQA RE Islamic Beliefs specification. The lesson gives pupils an understanding of key Muslim beliefs that will be covered in more detail throughout the topic; such as, the Qur’an and other sources of authority, the prophet Muhammad, and the two branches of Islam. Activities planned aim to develop vital literacy and comprehension skills alongside imparting knowledge of Islam. Power Point and word document work sheet included.
