Modal verbs I Can I Might track game KS1/ SEND/EAL

(0)
This is a fun modal verb track game designed to encourage children’s oracy skills Suitable for KS1, EAL and SEND children Players race round the track and when they land on a picture they have to choose the correct modal verb that matches the picture. eg I can cut out a picture. I might learn how to skateboard. This can help with speaking and listening skills- and be extended by making more complicated sentences. eg In the future, I might learn how to play the keyboard. Perfect for introducing modal verbs!

PSHE/RE Find someone who task… A great way to get your class to discover all the kind things that they and their peers have done during PSHE/ themed anti-bullying days or during RE. Each child has an easy to access sheet suitable for all. Walk around the class asking others if they have done any of the kind acts on the sheet- if they have, write their name or initial letter. Alternatively, each child has a different colour or own little symbol to record on their peers sheet. Afterwards, discussion around how kind the class is. Does it look different at the start of the year compared to the end?

Space themed track game with question openers for SEND children

This is a visual track game designed for SEND children but suitable for all! After learning about space, children can race each other around the board, asking and answering questions about what they have learnt. It might be that they have learned about a couple of astronauts or that they have learnt about the planets. Children can pre-plan a couple of questions using the question openers so that they are ready to play. A fun way to see what they know and a good opportunity for children to generate their own questions based on their learning.
