The Holocaust- yr 8 intro

This is going to be used with a year 8 to introduce them to the holocaust module. I have used the Education Holocaust Trust's pictures. I would print the pictures off and put the around the room. Have pairs go around the room and make notes about the pictures. Class feedback afterwards and then read them the stories behind the pictures. The aim is to demonstrate Jewish people lead ordinary lives before the Holocaust. They came from all around Europe and were integrated into different communities. Some of them practiced Judaism, some of them didn't. Different social classes, languages etc. Most of the slides are stimulus for questioning. The Torah- how would a Jewish person feel like seeing this, think pair share. What would happen if this was done today? Then spider diagram to demonstrate what they already know about holocaust for me to look at and amend the next lesson. Hope this is helpful to someone.
