Powerpoint and authentic text comprehensionto introduce the topic of immigration in Spain. Activities throughout. Then leads on to an article from September 2015 which discusses Spain's political views on the topic, specifically related to the situation of the young Syrian boy who was found washed up on a Turkish beach after his family fled their home country. The article came from El Pais originally, but I have made it a little shorter and written comprehension questions including translation, writing answers in your own words, etc. Hope it is useful!

Context of looking at global issues. A powerpoint outlining the origins of ETA in Spain and their purpose, goes along with a reading comprehension. This is based on an article I found on El Mundo and adapted. The questions I've designed to go with the comprehension are based around exam style reading papers and include finding synonyms / translation and putting ideas into your own words. This is a resource I have put together for my Y11 preparing for the new spec GCSE (specifically EdExcel). The slides are meant to be printed off double sided & laminated to make cards that can be re-used again and again for learning & revision purposes. Slides 1 &2 make a speaking mat that students can use to revise from or to have beside them while they work on role plays/photos/general discussion. I based the cards on the general conversation questions that could come up for each topic & on the other side of each one are potential 'follow up' questions that could be asked to each initial Q. (As has been stated in meetings about the speaking exam, students are expected to have a fluid conversation which all links together neatly). I hope it helps.

A powerpoint lesson on Hispanic music culture, informing students about traditions across Spain. Also has a focus on more modern music with links to songs, & leads on to the main activity of a gapfill for the Enrique Iglesias song "Bailando". (Gapfill worksheet attached). Powerpoint resource including games/activities for students within. Specifically aimed at learning countries & agreements with a (en/au/aux). Also helps students give their opinion of a country in both present & past. A focus on changing between present and past tense to say where you went & give a description. Progress lines so students can track progress. Also included is a vocab sheet for CA prep.

A powerpoint designed for Y10 lesson in the new 2016 spec for GCSE. It is on food in Spain and making orders & complaints in a restaurant. It involves lots of vocab activities and a roleplay for students to prepare and act out. Though it would work fine alone, it is made to be used alongside the Edexcel book Viva (Higher) p126/127, as this contains some useful listening activities. If you don't have access to this, then you could potentially leave the activities out or just use some from another textbook, depending on the level of the group. Hope it is useful.

Comprehensive powerpoint to guide beginner students (or remind older ones!) about how to form the present tense in Spanish. Must be presented with real enthusiasm!!!! :) My year 7 group were really interested in it and loved the white board competition at the end.

Powerpoint which lays out the formation of near future & simple future. It includes slides for a competition game with mini boards (can be done in pairs) whereby students use their notes to work out verb forms and race to get them on the board first. (simple but v effective!). There is a worksheet mentioned at the end but this was taken from another member, so I have not uploaded it. Enjoy

This pack contains resources I have made for high level y9 set doing the environment topic. Would also be suitable for foundation GCSE Spanish. The pack contains several powerpoints, games, activities, worksheets. Most should be quite comprehensive. Hope it is useful. Contra el raton is a game that was found on tes and I have adapted it for the environment topic. Photos and pictures have been taken from internet / other resources that I have adapted for my group.

A series of 3 lessons I've made on unemployment. Powerpoint 1 outlines the economic crisis in Spain and how unemployment levels rose during the recessions. It has a video / listening comprehension at the end, with a youtube video (hyperlink included). At the end it says 'worksheet' - but this is a worksheet I downloaded from someone else off TES so has not been included as part of this resource. Powerpoint 2 is 'Have I got News For You' themed using articles / titles of articles taken from EL PAIS the week this lesson was done (Jan/Feb 2016). Some are a bit of fun/ silly, then they lead on to things which are more related to unemployment in spain & the work place. There is also a video comprehension at the end about whether 2015 has been a good year for Spain's labour market. Powerpoint 3 is based solidly around the Sigue A2 book (chapter 3). I have developed the comprehension activities into more kinaesthetic work - as explained in notes section of the pwp. Also a gap fill taken from Sigue A2 chap 3. Would recommend doing this lesson alongside work on the imperative. Also attached an article from El Pais about the rise in Unemployment in Jan 16. Another article and reading comprehension (article from EL PAIS, comprehension created by me) also attached about women in the labour market / unemployment. Images taken from google. Includes pwp & game of battleships (plus other games/competitions within the pwp). Very comprehensive with instructions for delivering the lesson included in notes section of pwp.

A powerpoint I put together on Christmas time in Spain. It has mini comprehension activities / vocab match ups throughout and a quiz to be done in teams at the end to see who was paying attention. Information & photos are from the 3 years I spent living in Cadiz, Spain.

Powerpoint going through formation of imperfect tense, step by step. Translation activities & mini board game. (Pairs / small groups work to use their notes to work out the formation of a verb/phrase given in English on the board. First team to hold it up correctly get a point, prize for winners at end). Also includes a reading comprehension at the end.

Lots of differentiation/support & timed mini tasks throughout as well as a progress line to help students self-assess their progress. Writing task at the end.

Made at a basic level for quite an able year 7 group, used in an observation which received outstanding. Lesson plan included.

Two powerpoints I've put together (picture credit clipart & internet google search), involving town & directions. Fun ideas & activities such as pac man maps included in pwps. Also included a wordsearch, progress lines & crib sheet for low ability. Made for a low ability y8 French set. Some activities based around or taken and adapted from expo 1 / metro 1/ metro 2.

I couldn’t find anything fairly basic on environment and renewable energies for my y9 class (since it’s usually a gcse topic) so I put together this resource, which explains lots of energy sources and their advantages/ disadvantages in the powerpoint. It also has a sentence builder for expressing opinions and an information sheet (differentiated) for students to fill in as they go along. Worksheet activity at the end on what you are going to do to protect the environment in future. Pictures from google & info from various sites / information mats which has then been adpated for this group. Hope it is helpful.
