LESSON 6-8: This lesson continues on from the Media Lang Booster on ‘Luther’ (Lesson 1-5). This lesson covers:
-A rolling assessment called ‘Get the drop of the Examiner’ where students are assessed at the start of each new RAIL power point by a quiz on key terms and theories they NEED to know. This power points edition is on Media Lang.
-Verismilitude and how ‘The Sweeney’ changed TV e…g filming on location, 16MM film etc.
-Settings and locations in the set episode.
-Tropes and stock characters
-Identity parade- Who’s who in the set episode?
-Selection and combination
-Plot, narrative, linear/ non-linear
-Audio/visual task based on the understanding and defining of the 4 narrative theorists; Todorov, Levi-Strauss, Barthes and Propp. This is followed by embedding tasks on worksheets.
