A Child of Books by Oliver Jeffers Lesson Plan and Activities

✏ This is an interactive read aloud lesson plan for a 4-5 day Comprehensive Literacy Language Workshop for the mentor text book a Child of Books by Oliver Jeffers. The plans include a teacher script with strategic stopping points and questions for students. It also includes prompts for student responses through discussion or in writing or thoughtful logs. This lesson plan is also well-suited for dual language / dual immersion bilingual Spanish classrooms as this book is also available in Spanish titled La nina de los libros or La nina hecha de libros. The printable prompts are in English and also in Spanish. This lesson is focused on a theme of author’s message / lesson, analysis of text/close reading to determine meaning, and character description but can easily be modified for other uses.
