A Child's Thought Classic Poetry Plans

A week long unit on the classic poem A Child’s Thought by Robert Louis Stevenson. The unit helps children to understand classic poetry by introducing the poem in a way which they can easily understand. The children are asked to read, discuss and perform the poem as well as answer comprehension questions and then plan and write their own verse in a similar style.

All resources are included such as planning sheets, comprehension PPT and sheets and templates for writing.

It has been used with an able Year 2 class and would also work for a Year 3 class.
